Thanks for being such great hosts, our guests had an outstanding time in Nac and
staying at the hotel.

Gregory, S.

Many thanks again for your helpful service throughout all the stages of this complicated process. Everyone seemed to have a good time at the Fredonia and we are grateful for all your departments’ working with us so efficiently, both rooms and food. Till our next stay at the Big F, all our very best wishes.

Ann and Isidor Saslav

I was expecting Frank Sinatra to walk in the front door. Really nice hotel with great amenities that harkens back to the 50s rat pack set. The band at night was great the food exceptional and service first rate. We used the Hotel for a weekend get away from Houston, it was just the right distance for a weekend bike ride. The old town area was a fun change of place and we even bought some small antiques to take home. Recommend this place to all my riding friends for a weekend trip.

G. Thornburg, Weekend Getaway

I highly recommend the hotel. It has clean, comfortable rooms, good food, very friendly and helpful staff. We loved the music in the evenings. The ambiance is so much better than a cold, chain hotel and I highly recommend staying here for one night or several. I also love that it is owned by a local woman and want to support her.

This is a much overdue thank you for our wonderful stay at your beautiful hotel in December. I am one of the coaches’ wives with the… football team from Pennsylvania. Although the outcome of the football game was in our favor, we would have left your hotel with great fondness no matter who won the game. You and your staff were wonderful. I hope that our travels bring us back to Nacogdoches and the Hotel Fredonia! It’s a great and friendly town and your hotel fits in perfectly.

G. Ferrante

Everyone had a great time and everything was so well setup and managed… Staff at the Fredonia are to be congratulated for such a good job… EVERYONE was awesome. Thanks again. My family loved the hotel… we plan to come back for a weekend visit soon and get rooms by the pool and let the kids swim and have drinks by the pool and listen to the band. And, the food was delicious and we loved the bar and the bar menu. Everything was GREAT.

A couple of weeks ago, I had to evacuate West Orange, Texas, along with my sister, brother-in-law, niece and brother from Orange. Our stay at The Fredonia could not have been better. The staff… to the maids, maintenance men, porters and waitresses were as nice to us as if we were family. The whole town of Nacogdoches, there we had to obtain services… everybody was so friendly, and we appreciated your hospitality in such a time of need.

D. Seale, West Orange, Texas

…Wanted to pen a quick note of thanks to you and your staff for the wonderful experiences our entire wedding party had… at the Fredonia. The food was wonderful, the service superb, and the atmosphere friendly and elegant. Everyone enjoyed their time there. Please pass on to your staff a big “kudos” for job(s) well done! They made the day for everyone and certainly elevated the Fredonia Hotel to a new high with everyone.

Based on my stay at your landmark hotel I have made a gross mistake. During the past session the Texas Legislative considered redistricting. The 1st proposal had me representing Tyler, Angelina, and Nacogdoches counties. Because of other factors, I informed my legislative leadership that we needed to work on another option. If I had the fortunate opportunity to have stayed at the Fredonia before that, my actions would have been different. Not only for East Texas, but Texas generally, the Fredonia is a state treasure. Staying here was a treat. This is a fabulous experience and I will do repeats. Thank you for the unique experience and hospitality. Your pursuit of excellence and investment in Texas makes me so proud to represent East Texas.

J. White, State Representative District 12

The party was a huge success. Everyone told us how good the food was and how great the room looked. Please pass along… how pleased we all were with the party and the staff…. The framed picture of the marquee was a big hit too. Breakfast at the hotel was great!

My husband and I would like to thank you for our recent stay at Hotel Fredonia. The facility is beautiful, and after twenty years from our graduation, we now enjoy the hotel as our son attend SFA as a freshman. We look forward to our next Visit.

The Harrelsons

This hotel is in exceptional location right downtown in the historic district of Nacogdoches. Traveler should note that all the chain hotels in Nacogdoches are off busy highway 59 and you have to drive into town, a real pain. Hotel Fredonia, on the other hand, has a wonderful central, historic location, unlike the chains. Walking distance to downtown shops and local attractions. Quaint lobby, with gigantic koi pond overlooking lobby. I was impressed with the talented band that played in patio area under the beautiful live oak trees the Saturday night we were there. We loved the view from the tower room looking out on the historic area of town. Rooms and beds were comfy. Nice touches with fresh flowers around hotel, which you don’t see much in hotels anymore. Overall very pleased with hotel, you should give it a try. The hotel was in great condition and the renovations look great.

My husband and I attended new years eve and had a wonderful time. The food was great, could not have gotten better. The staff were as friendly and helpful as could be, I can always find something wrong if it is there and I promise we walked away completely satisfied. Thank You Hotel Fredonia!

LOVED this amazing 1950s style hotel. We snagged a last-minute room after vacating a flea bag hotel across town. So glad we made the move! Hotel Fredonia is so charming and unusual. Rooms circling the pool so cool. Lovely courtyard; Saturday night stay and fantastic jazz band playing by the pool. Had wonderful dinner and drinks poolside. Hotel lobby is absolutely gorgeous with fragrant flowers and helpful staff; also has a cool sports bar, and an elegant restaurant.

I was privileged to be a part of the 36th Texas State Music Festival hosted by the Lufkin State Supported Living Center and held at the Hotel Fredonia & Convention Center, last week. We had over 200 performers and more than 300 total attendees in the Convention Center on Wednesday & Thursday. From the time we began setting up the venue on Monday, through the time I had to return on Friday afternoon to retrieve a table I had forgotten, we were treated to the best service imaginable! We enjoyed wonderful meals, catered by the hotel from Wednesday’s breakfast through the awards banquet on Thursday evening. When I say catered, I want you to know, they didn’t just provide the food, but literally catered to the needs of every person in attendance. The Hotel Fredonia & Convention Center is not the newest facility, so don’t expect the surface glitz of a brand new venue. Here, you can expect deeper traditions like old fashioned charm and a staff which we found to be second to none in their willingness to put service above all else. From past experience with this hotel, I knew there was no other venue in the area that could accommodate our needs so well. Still, to be certain, we checked out every possible alternative in Lufkin & Nacogdoches anyway. So, I say with confidence – for an event of this size and scope, The Hotel Fredonia & Convention Center is THE premiere location in the Texas Forest Country. Thank you, for being a very large part of the success of this year’s festival!

The Lone Star Legislative Summit Reception went very well thanks to the hotel staff. Always a pleasure working with y’all.

K. Daniel, Nacogdoches Chamber of Commerce

We came for a meeting and pep rally for a new branch that we were opening. The service we received was excellent… [the] Event Planning and Sales [team] provided me with excellent service with anything that I needed, even if it was the last minute.

J. Swonke, First Convenience Bank

Our TOMFRA trip was a huge success thanks to your careful shepherding us through our planning. We also appreciated your being at the hotel to assist us in our daily needs. We could not have been more please with your hotel, the service, and the willingness of your employees to meet our every need… Our members remarked on the lobby flowers!

P. Coggan, Texas Old Missions and Forts Restoration Association

Just wanted to let you know that the food served at the Texas State Bank’s “Eight Make a Difference” banquet last night was sensational! The filet mignon was the best I have had in a long time and the chocolate cake with raspberry topping was a real treat. The service was also good. Keep up the good work!

Ford, Lufkin, Texas

I would like to thank you for EVERYTHING. The Hotel Fredonia is AWESOME. The staff is out of this world, we received so many positive comments on the conference, the hotel and Nacogdoches. Thank you for everything, it was an amazing conference.

T. Benson, Texas Academic Advising Network

As a result of fantastic community support, the inaugural Nacogdoches Film Festival…was a success. I would like to personally thank our sponsors… I would also like to send out a special thanks to Hotel Fredonia and their staff for hosting the event. We are already planning the 2013 Festival to make it even better. Thanks again to all.

R. Johnson, Nacogdoches Film Festival

Everything was absolutely wonderful. Thank you, Thank you!

S. Lilly, Lilly & Company

I don’t think I ever had the opportunity to thank you for all your help when my investors were in town. It went very well and they were very impressed with your hotel and especially the food in the restaurant! I can assure you that these guys know a thing or two about good food and restaurants so it is no small compliment.

E. Jakimier, Domus Development – Legends at SFA

Thanks for all your help during the ETHA meeting. Everyone was absolutely courteous and helpful. Everything turned out just right.

Thank you so much for all of your hard work with the Scholarship Stars reception. It was an amazing event, and I couldn’t have pulled it off without the help of everyone at the Fredonia. All of our attendees had a great time and really enjoyed the hospitality and delicious food that y’all provided. I look forward to planning this event with y’all next year!

S. Mora, SFA Alumni Association

Many thanks to the 555 people who took a few hours from their busy lives to attend the 87th annual Nacogdoches County Chamber of Commerce Annual Meeting and Banquet this past Tuesday…. The Hotel Fredonia staff and management were stellar in their service.

B. Partain, Nacogdoches Chamber of Commerce

Sarah [Kouliavtsev] and The Hotel Fredonia saved my upcoming wedding reception from the brink of a major disaster. My fiance and I had reserved another venue, only to find out that a major event was happening — the same night in the same location. Our guests and caterers would not have been able to get to the venue as the streets were to be blocked off for the majority of the day and evening. The customer service I received in trying to rectify this issue was extremely disappointing. …That’s when I called Sarah at The Hotel Fredonia. She gave me the customer service that a Bride-to-be in a moment of crisis deserves. She calmed me down and took the information needed to make my special day spectacular. Within 30 minutes I had a proposal that included everything I needed and more to make our first night as a married couple as spectacular as it could be. I am forever grateful to her and The Hotel Fredonia for rescuing my wedding day and helping me regain my belief that fantastic people do exist.

Jennifer F., Nacogdoches, TX

Thank you so much for all the help with our reception. Everyone really enjoyed themselves. You all did an excellent job!

R. Steen, Lufkin, Texas

Thank you so much for making the Powers/Adkison wedding the greatest that it could ever be! The help during the set-up was far above the norm; the politeness of the staff was very sincere; the food was wonderful! I appreciate all of the staff and will certainly recommend the Hotel to be used as a wedding venue in the future.

R. Mills, All American Creations {Event Decorator}

I could not have planned this event without you. You have made everything run so smooth. Thanks Again!!!

Extremely Tasty Shrimp Salad! Shrimp is cooked perfectly! Flavors are exceptional! Pecan Crusted Tilapia-the best I have ever tasted!-Huge selection of all kinds of veggies if you are trying to keep with your New Years Resolution and INCREDIBLE Bread Pudding if you are not! Don’t miss your opportunity to eat at one of Nacogdoches’ Oldest and Best Restaurants!

Angela W., Trip Advisor Review 1/15/13

Great coffee and good eats. About once a month they have a special gourmet wine event. Attentive waiters and a neat pressed-tin ceiling. Lots of ambiance.

TexasTravelFun, Trip Advisor Review 8/30/12

The Fredonia Eggs Benedict is the best on the breakfast menu and a unique fare allround. The Ahi is the best appetizer.

Leilane V., Yelp Review 8/12/12

This is a very nice restaurant in an old historic hotel. The food was very good and the quality reflected in the price.

Open Table Review 9/21/12

An unexpected delight to find a really good restaurant in a hotel. I loved the old world meets modern times vibe, the excellent service and the great food.

Open Table Review 8/1/12

This past Saturday I was part of a large party who came in to have lunch and celebrate a friend’s birthday. The hotel was extremely busy, but the manager and staff arranged for us to have great birthday lunch and they did it all with a smile! Thank you for making us feel welcome!

Amy. H

The food at the Hotel was 5 star. I feel like driving back to Nacogdoches just for another lunch. Oh! The welcoming sign tickled our fancy.

Thank you so very much for sponsoring this year’s “Running of the Blooms”. We had a great turnout for our first year and look forward to growing this event over the years. We greatly appreciate your support and without you our event would not of been a success!

Nacogdoches Convention and Visitors Bureau

Thank you for what you did for the SLCU #36, also your hotel staff. We will never forget.

J. Tarver, WWII US Navy Veteran

The Team Ryan Benefit Banquet and Silent Auction was a great success, thanks to the support of the whole community.  More than 300 people came together to show love and support for the Davis family.  Bless those who so generously donated items for auction.  Your act of giving is an inspiration to us all.

A heartfelt “thank you” to Susan Pack Reents, owner of Hotel Fredonia, who generously donated the room, set up and all of the food.  Without you, this event would not have happened.  And thank you to Sarah [Kouliavtsev] of Hotel Fredonia, we appreciate all your hard work.

There are so many people that made this possible, each one as important as the next.  Most of all, we thank Jesus for teaching us how to love and care for one another.

Letter to the Editor, October 1, 2011

I want to thank you once more for all that you and your wonderful staff did for our World War II Veterans last month. They told me that this was their best reunion ever. Your generosity and the kindness shown to these American Heroes and their families is something that they’ll never forget! When they had their business meeting on the last day, they decided to come back here next year… God bless you and long-live Hotel Fredonia!
